The Carnegie Link Up program guides music teachers and students in grades 3–6 through a year-long exploration of symphonic repertoire. This program provides extensive standards-based teacher and student materials and culminates in an interactive orchestral concert in which students are invited to actively participate from their seats by playing recorder, through movement, and by singing along. This year's Link Up program, Link Up: The Orchestra Sings, explores what makes a melody great. Melody is one of the universal elements of music and defines the music we know and love. A great melody can express ideas and emotions, help tell a story, and bring people together through song.
